Walking in Spain

Alpujarras Aracena Grazalema Subbetica Mallorca Montsant
Andalucian Adventures began by running walking holidays in Spain and grew from the John Brough’s love of searching out the rural heart of the country. This philosophy of getting deep into the core of the places we visit is as strong today, wherever we go. What continues to be special about Spain is the wealth of variety and contrasts it offers across (or even within!) its different regions.

Our four hiking tours of Andalucia each offer something quite unique. From the verdant, gentle hills of the Sierra de Aracena, to the dramatic Alpujarras, from the white villages and exceptional flora and bird life of Grazalema to the timeless charms of Subbetica, where Andalucian Adventures was born. In the ten years that we have brought guests to walk these hills, they remain as unspoiled now as when we began.

Our guided walking holiday in Catalonia offers a different view again of Spain. Catalan cooking is renowned and you will work up an appetite walking through the little known region of Montsant with dramatic views and villages steeped in history and legend. Finally, we offer walking in the Sierra de Tramuntana in Mallorca where paths lead you from mountain peaks to secluded bays and fresh oranges keep you sustained along the way.

Far-outreached expectations. Everything organised was excellent. Lots of fun with a good group and great leaders.
WALKING HOLIDAY
MONTSANT - 2005

Be it history, culture, food, wine, landscape or flora and fauna, Spain's extraordinary diversity is what keeps us - and so many of our guests - coming back again and again. The one constant wherever we go however, is the warmth and hospitality of our spanish hosts and their pleasure in sharing their region with us.
