Where we walk - click on a region
Our waking holidays in France are based in Les Alpilles,
in Provence. This is a stunning part of France, tucked between Arles and Avignon,
dominated by the tiny mountain range of Les Alpilles.
The walking is varied and not too demanding, taking us through the striking, rocky
landscape of the Alpilles as well as vineyards, olive groves and shade dappled Provencal
villages.
We stay just outside the village of Maussane Les Alpilles, with its cool, café-lined
square ideal for a relaxing drink at the end of the day’s walk. The immediate landscape
around Maussane offers so much, that our walks either start and end in the village
or a very short drive away.
We make time in the week to visit the renowned Wednesday market in Saint Remy -
an explosion of colour, scents and sounds and to visit a local vineyard to taste
their excellent wines. At the end of your week we think you will feel truly immersed
in the french way of life!
