Our singing holidays

Faith Watson is an enthusiastic and talented tutor who approaches singing from the Natural Voice perspective. She believes that anybody (that's right – absolutely anybody!) can sing.

No experience is necessary as all songs are taught by ear in the traditional way and it is, therefore, not necessary to be able to read musical notation.

Whether you've only ever sung in the bath or are a regular member of a choir or other singing group, this inspirational tutor will soon have you singing in glorious harmony.

Faith teaches songs in harmony with no accompaniment. Singing with others is a joyful, uplifting experience creating an immediate sense of community.

Many of the songs will draw on rich global traditions of harmony singing from places such as Africa, Eastern Europe and the Pacific Islands. The holidays will also include some of Faith's own original songs and arrangements.

These holidays are aimed at those who enjoy choral singing and can read music. This is a great opportunity to spend a week immersed in music surrounded by mountains.

Our aim in the daily singing sessions is to cultivate a "choral sound" and shape the music ready for our final performance in a local church.

The excitement begins a few weeks before departure when you open your music parcel filled with many of the pieces that we will be singing. Music will include choral, sacred, secular and folk pieces with some Italian influences.

Every day's music making will build towards the final event. Songs will be chosen to suit the voices of the group.

Sessions will include relaxation exercises, warm ups and round singing, followed by work on our selected pieces together with singing tips that will prove very useful in your choral singing back home.
