Arrival day
On arrival at the Island Hotel there's time for a walk along the shore and an introduction to the week before dinner.

Around Old Grimsby
Right outside our hotel, this location is perfect for settling in to the week and looking at the core aspects of composition, light and shade.

Across to St Martin's
Lichen covered rocks overlook the archipelago of St Martin's and the Eastern Isles. It is blissfully peaceful and quiet amongst the heather and gorse which contrasts with the turquoise ocean and cerulean sky.

Tresco Abbey Gardens
A day of painting among the ruins of the 14th century Benedictine Abbey; magnificent floral terraces, fountains, pools, sub-tropical plants from around the world. It's also a good chance to look around these famous gardens.

Heavenly day in Hell Bay
Bryher, Tresco's closest inhabited island, is very different in character. It is more rugged with spectacular views of Hell Bay, named for its lethal jagged rocks.

We stop for tea at Hell Bay Hotel which houses a collection of 20th century Cornish artists including Roger Hilton, Rose Hilton, Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth and John Miller.

Around New Grimsby
A lovely day spent amongst the boats and directly in front of the island's art gallery.

Departure day
After breakfast there's time for one last stroll along the beach before transport arrives for the heliport or boat.
