Botanical painting holiday - beach finds

Painting

England • The Isles of Scilly • Bryher

Empty beach - Scilly Isles Sea glass, shells and silence Restore your spirits on these mid-winter holidays that offer a great opportunity for rest, peace and quiet with the focus on still life paintings of our beach finds.
What to expect

These holidays are designed to combine deep relaxation with the techniques of botanical painting. The beauty, tranquillity and isolation of the island of Bryher and the meditative qualities of detailed painting will ensure you leave your day-to-day concerns on the mainland.

Botanical painting - Beach finds

Each day after breakfast, we walk the nearby beaches, watched over by seals, in search of the day’s treasures – shells, crab claws, seaweed, pebbles, or feathers, the choice is yours, but whatever you choose, Rosie and Meriel will be on hand to make it all possible on paper.

You may choose any medium, but as on all our holidays, your tutors will phone you in advance to ensure you have what you need to match your style and achieve your aims.

Most of the week will be spent on Bryher, painting at the hotel when we return from our forays. However, we will spend at least one day in the gardens of Tresco, where even in early or late season it can be quite warm!

This is a holiday that will ensure you slow down, but the two tutors will also ensure you progress as a botanical artist.
