Painting in Greece

Ithaca
Greece has a history of providing inspiration to artists dating back thousands of years. Any of us that have struggled with life drawing can only wonder at the achievement of the first Greek artists who successfully painted the human form in three dimensions – as early as 500BC!

So it only seems natural for us to offer painting holidays in Greece. In case you are starting to feel daunted by the artistic legacy before you – don’t! The charms of Greece, with its warm, Mediterranean climate, brilliant blue seas, dazzling white houses, fishing villages, and sea-front tavernas cannot fail to relax and inspire you.

Jenny's enthusiasm and talented instruction kept us on our toes and all the arrangements went smoothly. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
PAINTING HOLIDAY
ITHACA - 2007

On this art holiday, we take you to Ithaca, homeland of Odysseus. This is an island of contrasts with a mountainous interior, rugged western side and much softer, green and fertile eastern shore with sheltered bays and tiny, colourful, harbours. In between painting you can take boat trips to neighbouring islands, explore some of the tiny mountain trails or simply relax by the pool or seashore...

All our tutors are chosen for their professionalism and experience in teaching different media including watercolour, pastel, acrylic, oils, mixed media and drawing. They are extremely committed and friendly and want the best for everyone. They teach for a total of 6-8 hours per day. However, this is a painting holiday so you are of course free to take as many breaks as you wish!
