The Alpujarras Natural Park
The Alpujarras Natural Park

The Alpujarras provide a magnificent landscape, where the backdrop is invariably the snow-covered Sierra Nevada – Europe's Himalayas.

Here, in this ravined landscape among the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, we capture the floral riot of spring and the burnished finale of a mountain autumn.

These great mountains are contoured by acequías, Moorish irrigation channels clinging to the mountains and nurturing the green aprons of the villages with their raspberries, kiwi fruit and pomegranates.

This was the last corner of Moorish Spain and the rich Berber legacy is pervasive. Scattered among this dramatic scene, and clinging to precipices, are the villages of Capileira, Bubión and Busquistar.

Where we stay

With much Moorish influence, this extremely attractive and comfortable hotel lies at the heart of the Tahá. The rooms are extremely spacious, there is a delightful swimming pool and Victor's hospitality is remembered by all. Journey time 2½ hours.
